Four writing intensive classes...

Is a lot of work. I'm currently taking economic anthropology which includes two essays due in April, introduction to forensic anthropology which includes one critique of a forensic technique in a popular novel, a directed studies focusing on menopause as a cross-cultural perspective which includes tons of journal articles and a 15-20 page final paper, and finally my senior thesis which also includes tons of journal articles and a 20 page final paper, poster, and presentation. I'm going to be a little busy until around May 11.

I've been living with my uncle since December 15. It's been an interesting experience. Ninety percent of what he says is a full on lie. He talks to himself. He gets Jack all excited then gets on to him for being too hyper. He screams out made up words at any given moment. He blows his nose more than any one person on this earth should. He watches Fox News religiously then engages me in debate even though I KNOW BETTER.

The next four months should be interesting.

Happy 2013, yo!

For some reason I really like adding "yo" to the end of my facebook statuses.

I haven't written in ages because I was busy selling my house and trying to pass all my classes. I succeeded at both.

I spent New Year's Eve by changing into my pajama's at 5:30, reading a book, drinking beer, and putting a puzzle together with my family. It was a rip-roaring good time until the kid lost her earrings and got a smack on the ass for having an attitude*.

I've been reflecting on this last year today. It seems that 2012 went by very quickly. I made a couple of new friends this year that are the type of people that I feel as if I've known forever. They are smart, beautiful ladies that I'm very grateful to have met. Everytime I hang out with one of them I walk away feel much better about myself and fully entertained.

This past year I spent time in Los Angeles with New Orleans Guy. I enjoy every moment I spend with him and I am always disappointed when we have to leave one another.

This past year I adopted Jack and I have enjoyed every single moment of him. I cannot remember what it was like without him and it breaks my heart to think of the day he will leave me.

This past year my parents bought a beautiful house on the lake and I think my family has become much closer by spending so much time together at the new house.

I've made resolutions in the past that I didn't stick to so I'll spare you the reading of that bullshit.

I've been on Christmas break since December 14 and I don't go back to school until January 14. I have spent the last few weeks packing and cleaning one house, moving into another house, traveling to my parents for Christmas, spending TONS of time with family, reading a variety of books, and visiting friends.

I've watched endless hours of Portlandia, Breaking Bad, and Good Luck Charlie. The last one was not by choice.

I got tons of gifts and gift cards that I didn't expect and I plan on shopping non-stop when I get back to Mobile.

I hope everyone else had a great Christmas and New Year. And most of all I hope that 2013 brings you all everything that you want and need.

Cheers!
